Utilisation of Spatial Data in Energy Biomass Supply Chain Research—A Review

The supply logistics of energy biomasses generally involves a complex system chains, which aim to achieve timely and cost-efficient feedstock deliveries biomass demand points. performance chains is often examined in case studies where spatial data about sources transportation networks are deployed varying resolutions different geographical extents. In this paper, we have reviewed 94 publications, were used that focused on analysing optimising chains. publications classified into 16 categories, according the publication year, study methods objectives, types, complexity features each area. This review found use information systems context has increased popularity recent years, multiformity applied methods, objectives simultaneously. Another finding was most countries transport network high quality unrestrictedly available. Nevertheless, studies, including from multiple countries, represented marginally papers reviewed. paper also argue standard way reporting contents should be developed improve comprehension reproducibility field research.
